In search of Stereo Reverbs and Delays to fill 2 Binaura EEPROMS.

Frustratingly I am continuing to see the incompatibility message. I’m fairly certain I have followed the instructions correctly. I’m attaching photos of the files as they are saved and the beginning and end of the copy and pasted code. Let me know if I’m missing something…
You have to change them to SPCDJ files, not .txt files. SpinCAD is looking for a file whose extension is SPCD or SPCDJ.

How do you do that?
Step 1) Copy just the code in its entirety and paste it into a fresh/empty TEXT file.
Step 2) Then save that text file as a .TXT file.
Step 3) Rename the extension of that .TXT file so it ends in ".SPCDJ". (If you cannot see the extension portion of your files, you need to make a change to your File Explorer in Windows or Finder in Mac to expose all file extensions.)
Step 4) With the file properly named with the .SPCDJ extension, it can now be found and opened with SpinCAD 99.1070

If you need more help with exposing/showing/editing filename extensions, just Google "How to show and edit filename extensions Windows" or "How to show and edit filename extensions Mac".

This dance is necessary only because the forum doesn't allow just any file extension to be shared/attached.
 
@BrainGutz - Meanwhile, here is a modified screenshot of a stereo oil can delay that shows all the important details of each block in the patch. I found this on @Digital Larry's site a while back and worked it up into a stereo version. I've modified some of the Chorus and Three Tap details to a stereo effect instead of just a dual mono oil can delay. We'll likely need to futz with the values of the two "Scale Offset" blocks to get a better "wobble". As it is the "wobble frequency" (Pot0) starts off at full value and diminishes as Pot0 is turned up, because of how "Scale Offset 1" is setup. Other than that, this stereo oil can delay should work for you once you set it up. DL may have some other suggestions too.

Still, mastering the process of copying/saving the code to a text file and changing the extension is a lot less work.

Those two files still have the ".TXT" file extension. They have to be renamed in the Finder (Mac) or File Explorer (Windows) so each file ends with ".SPCDJ" - not ".SPCDJ.TXT".

We'll likely need to futz with the values of the two "Scale Offset" blocks to get a more controlled/tamed "wobble" control. I think with this and some other minor tweaks, this one should be good to go. Other than that, this stereo oil can delay should work in stereo, rather than dual-mono, for you once you set it up.

Oh, and I've already removed the redundant "Dry Signal" paths from this patch. So for the finalized patch the Binaura's "Mix" control can manage the Dry/Wet mix.

(When auditing this in SpinCAD, the effect will sound more like 'dry' than 'wet'. Turning up the feedback pot [Pot02] will give a better idea of how this will sound in SpinCAD. So remember that while auditing in SpinCAD, some dry signal paths must be used to hear a more realistic effect as it is with the dry signal. And that the dry signal paths in these patches need to be removed before burning them to an EEPROM.)

Let me know what you think. After tweaking this, we should be able to move on the next one, the - "D02 Stereo Multi-Head Delay".
 
I think it sounds great! I agree with your note that the chorus wobble could be tamed or lengthened, but otherwise I'm happy.

Side note, is it possible to play live into Spincad or are you bound to audio clips?

I don't believe SpinCAD allows anything but audio clips at this time. By best recommendation is build out your Binaura and burn/reburn EEPROMs for final testing.

When you say "lengthened", do you mean a slower LFO/wobble? If so, just futz with the bottom set of Scale Offset 1 parameters in it's Control Panel.

When you think we're done with a patch, say so and I'll move on to the next one.

Great! Here's the D02 Stereo Multi-Head Delay . . . .
Your request: "Stereo Multi-Head Tape Echo: Two staggered tape delay taps (3/4 timing ratio) featuring dual out-of-phase LFO modulation for tape warble and high/low-cut filtering." This is a 4-Head stereo delay with a max delay of 500ms.

The ¾ staggered delay is not yet implemented - should be easy enough to do by tweaking the Delay & Tap times between the two Drum Delay blocks. Just remember that the total combined max delay time for the two block is limited to 1000ms. Because the current number of instructions used is 129, we're at the limit for providing the "dual out-of-phase LFO modulation for tape warble and high/low-cut filtering", so those two features are likely not going to happen. Note too, that the line (Instructions) limit for the FV-1 is 128. And with this one currently at 129, it won't function thru an FV-1 circuit. (SpinCAD is quite forgiving with the FV-1 limitations and can still audit/play some patches that over the Instruction/Register/Memory by a small amount.) We can get back down to 128 or below easily when we remove the two "Mixer 2:1" blocks because they are only there for auditing in SpinCAD and the Binaura circuit will manage the Dry/Wet mix.

I'll also be doing a three head stereo delay with a max delay time of ~900ms that doesn't use up as many instructions to potentially add in the tape warble & hi-lo cut filtering. Should have one spun up & posted by the end of the day.

@BrainGutz - Here's the second D02 Stereo Multi-Head Delay (3-heads) I came up with. Ths one allows for greater delay time - ~900ms, but does NOT allow control of the number of heads as it will always be at 3. And because of the limited number of internal control pots, I'm unable to sort how to control the warble and filtering separately; so I just put the control on warble aspect. The filters are fixed at the values shown in the respective blocks Control Panels.

Here's the screenshot of ths patch in SpinCAD showing the Control Panel parameters . . . .
(The two Chorus blocks are used solely for the warble factor. And all six of the Tap Gain values for the "Six Tap" delay block are the same at -6db. My Mac laptop screen isn't large enough to accommodate the height of the panel.)

Just pick either the "D02 Stereo Multi-Head Delay" or "D02 Stereo Multi-Head Delay 02" patch you want to move forward with and we'll go from there.
 
I definitely prefer the second version. (D02 Stereo Multi-Head Delay 02) They both sound usable but the second is more versatile and musical to my ears. I also prefer the controls of this version. Again, they feel more usable.

Fair enough. We'll go forward with that candidate. What about it do you think may need further tweaking? (Other than omitting the three 2:1 Mixer blocks to remove the Dry Signal from the patch.?)
