SOLVED Issues with Tayda UV Printing on 125B Case

Hello, I recently attempted to submit a UV printing design to Tayda for a 125B enclosure. I followed various online guides, but since this is my first time using any design software, I may have made some mistakes. When I uploaded my artwork, I received an error message stating: "Your artwork has severe issues." I'm not entirely sure what went wrong. Could anyone kindly help me understand what might be causing the issue? Any tips or common pitfalls to look out for would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your time and assistance!

Did you order your enclosure with Gloss Matte or Gloss Varnish? If yes, your GLOSS layer is empty in your file.

It looks like you've applied a mask layer that handles the rounded corners on the COLOR layer. Tayda won't recognize this mask and it may be one of the issues throwing the error. You need to trim the objects in the top and bottom right so they are rounded rather than relying on a mask to accomplish this. You've done a solid job of isolating the color objects so go ahead and remove all of the white content from your COLOR layer. Someone may respond "you don't need to remove the pure white, it won't print anything..." they're right, but it doesn't need to be there either, it's only making the file larger than it needs to be and for zero benefit.

Double check that your Roland swatch is applied to your WHITE layer. I'm not seeing it when I view the file from Affinity Designer.

I used to leave pure white on my color layer for that reason, but I had a batch of 25 enclosures that were ruined because whoever was running the machine that day decided that my pure white was supposed to be printed white. I complained and was refunded for them, but it delayed my builds by a few weeks because I had to reorder, so I remove all the white now.

Hi, thanks for the clarification.

I now understand that using a mask for the rounded corners on the COLOR layer won’t be recognized by Tayda. I’ll go ahead and trim the actual objects to create the rounded corners as needed.

I also see why it’s a good idea to remove the pure white from the COLOR layer—even though it won’t print, it’s just adding unnecessary file size with no benefit. I’ll clean that up as well.

Appreciate the guidance!

Wow, thanks for sharing that sounds like a really frustrating situation. I can definitely see why you’d choose to remove all the white now. It’s good to know that even pure white can sometimes be misinterpreted during production. I’ll make sure to clean up my files more carefully from now on to avoid that kind of risk. Appreciate the heads-up!
