Kewpie 1979 switch

I've seen one build report that mentioned that upon switching 1979 on, there is a signal loss before it comes back. Mine is also doing this, and since it only came up one time, for those of you who built it, is this normal or do I start troubleshooting.

I believe this is because one pole of the switch is sending signal through a moderately sized electrolytic cap

Since it's normally open ended (1), it's not building charge, so that "pop" and signal delay when it's toggled (3) is the signal passing through, and the capacitor needs to build up its capacitance. Mode does the same thing with its 1µ bipolar caps. I think this is normal operation.

Yep, I saw that 47u and figured it was involved. Good to know that the 1u does it too, sounds like it must be normal!

The Mode switch was originally an internal switch on the board, IIRC, so it wasn't meant as an everyday toggle
