LDRs for Duo-Phase

Hi, I'm about to order the parts to do a Duo-Phase build. I am getting myself confused on what LDRs to order for it. The parts list doesn't give any specifics. I'd very much appreciate if anyone could point me in the right direction.
 
the phase II is the 'single version' of the duo-phase.

It calls for KE-10720 LDR Photoresitors and a Yellow LD. I ordered all the parts per specifications in the build document but tayda was out of KE-10720.

So i ordered Photo Conductive Cell Resistor LDR 540nm RADIAL 5528.

Since building the phase II, I’ve slowly been losing sanity.
This is due to the asymmetrical phasing pattern that i’ve observed with this circuit (so far).
Initially, i thought it was an error in my build, but i’ve noticed that other builds have demonstrated this phasing behaviour too, which did bring me some relief, but I’m fairly convinced it’s not really supposed to be asymmetrical.
(especially when you hear demos of original Mutron units, and yes, to be fair, these are built with vactrols, but still….)

my assumption is that the type of LDR is probably responsible for the...
 
Those ke-10720s have been out of stock at Tayda for a while. I’m starting to wonder if they went extinct.

damn.... that's no good.

well, apparently 9203s are suitable...
I grabbed a handful a couple months ago for whenever i get around to doing my duophase, but it looks like they're currently out of stock @ mouser
(back in stock in about 2 months)

The abridged version of the solution: one Crappy TL 72. (It was a war to figure out and i mostly got lucky)

Gentleman, i dont think this thing working is just a phase. We got it.

Appreciate your support, your clues got me looking at the circuit diagram and using my brain. I usually just paint by numbers.

Can confirm the alternate
LDRs and a green LED work.

Hey - saw my post linked here. I posted the same question in mods as well and got some good answers from the forum. So i linked that thread above.

Expanding on what Jwin528’s mentioned. The 5528’s from Tayda worked well with a diffused Green LED in my phase 2. Issues i had were unrelated to LDRs. To my humble ear it sounds very good. But in full Disclosure: i dont have a much i am comparing it to.

I didnt try other LDR’s or LED combinations. I am at the “holy shit it works” stage of building journey.

Also, to the forum police: Sorry for double posting. I know better now.
