let's see your pedalboard!

Very nice board! How do you like the DM101?
Cheers thanks. The DM-101 brilliant honestly. It was an impulse buy when they were on offer and I wasn't sure what to expect but I love it. Super flexible but at the same time it has a sonic signature, which you can lose sometimes with loads of options

My only criticism is that it's hard to keep track of presets with no screen. I was reusing the bank numbers on the switch but then I rearranged my banks and now I have no idea what's in there o_O haha

Nice, how's the CV7003?

Pretty gob-smacking. Very sensitive to differences in playing and setup and has much more to give than pure full send.

So far I've managed to get a range of sounds and tones out of it, the transition is silky smooth so you can go from zero to dirty old amp breakup just using fingers (around 4olock on both dials) through to full velcro fuzz. What also isn't shown is how you can use the pedal to change the behaviour of others in the chain. The Angel Wing chorus goes full on choral as the fuzz creates more harmonics for it to play with.

I use SD Pegasus and Sentient pickups so they're on the higher end of output. The pedal chain goes into the high gain of a JCM800 front end with a G12M-65.. it gives some serious blues tones on the low end of fuzz dirt, proper Burnett howlin' tones, and then manages to go full metal fuzz.

I've not managed to get it to go spitty yet but I've managed to get some crunchy velcro.

Only down side is the DC jack is connected to the battery clip, offering shorting out or attempting to charge a battery from what I could see.. (I couldn't see a diode). Simple, but I'm paying not to go through the hassle of getting good PNPs. I know the dates on these late 1977 and early 1978.

@NickKUK I know what you mean, germanium is such a hassle. I have a drawer full of low gain junk (sure I'll find a use for it one day though). With a good traditional style fuzz pedal like that you only need one

Played a little party out in the country tonight. Likely the last public appearance of this board as it is. I have plans to disassemble, reconfigure, finish making squareplug/mogami patch cables, and if I can make room (fingers crossed) incorporate the expresso along with a single expression on the board. I did add the DEFX Sputter and PPCB Capsize this morning. Both sounded excellent. I'm super addicted to the Sputter right now. I can admit that I may have over utilized it and I do not care. I was a total pig with my Soysauce too and I built that ages ago.

Damn! Not messing around with that wiring job!

What happened to your PH-3 though??
Ah, the PH-3 failed on me. Diagnosis is a failed DSP IC.. I took the opportunity to plan out an FV-1 based build into the Boss shell. A project nearing completion! I used the enclosure in building the rack simply to get the cabling set. Thanks!

Very cool man, how do you like the synergy stuff? No power amp?
No power-amp - that has been my biggest consideration in this. It does sound amazing as is with the Syn2 analog cab-sim so far and that may be where I leave it - but I want to try some options. The Axiom Effects PAE-2 is the closest target, being analog (I am trying to move away from digital as much as possible). The waiting list is extensive.. The Fryette Powerstation would be ideal if not for being only mono. I am fairly committed now to stereo. I will probably use a combination of poweramp/tape saturation plugins in mastering to compensate for now.

I wish there were a DIY analog poweramp sim PCB that I could build into an enclosure for mounting into a 1RU space.. It would be ideal to mount next to the Radial unit,

I’m kinda in the same realm. Had to move to headphones went to vsts but something was missing. Ended up on tube preamps and a couple of pedals, with a lexicon unit for back chain, power amp emulation and a vst IR loader… no actual power amp. No need for it if you only have to push headphones.. I have always eyeballed the Senergy stuff but never pulled the trigger…

New mini board. I made this board a few years ago as a demo video board. In an attempt to declutter and streamline while getting back to playing more instead of thinking about pedals I'm not using, I had to do some real soul searching on who I am as a player.

I like a lot of pedals in theory. I think they sound cool but I don't really like playing them in context of a song. Like I said to myself, how often do I really use a phaser, chorus and flanger unless I'm just noodling around. Rarely am I playing a song that requires those sounds. I'm a simple player and most of the stuff I listen too doesn't use a lot of effects so I'm gonna live with this for a while.

Here's my current incarnation. I've been able to pare down to the overdrives that spark the most joy, which has made room for other stuff

It's a thumb sucker compressor -> Tchula -> Vibronaut -> Rotary Chorus -> Lovepedal Blackface Deluxe -> Mad Professor Amber OD -> Mag Echo -> Deflector Reverb. The little pedal is the switcher for my amp's on board effects.

How are you liking that xs-100 ?
I love it. It’s been years since I bought a fancy commercial pedal. I initially got it to replace my micro POG. It tracks faster and sounds really good. It’s also my main chorus sound now. I have a preset where I set the treadle to the DETUNE parameter, so it sweeps between 0 and -30 cents. I’m also doing everything I can to avoid octave up sweeps a la Tom Morello. 😆
