let's see your pedalboard!

i tossed together a starter board a while ago, and it's suited me pretty well. but, i've built too many pedals, still got a few more to go, and i wanna use all of them. see? too many pedals for that little sucker!

so, i'm thinking of building a ~32 x 16" pedalboard / case. kinda huge, but why not?

if i'm feeling frisky, maybe i'll toss in some bonus in/out jacks and an IEC power plug into the back/side of the board. we'll see. something like this:

i'm gonna snag some "lift away" hinges, so I can have a case that will lift off and be relatively slim at practice, but easy enough to pack up and roll out afterwards.

i assume others on here have gotten clever and whipped up some creative pedal boards/cases, too. let's see 'em!

bonus question: if I install some sort of in/out jacks, they should be isolated from each other, right? as in, if I use a metal dish, i should use isolated jacks?

I picked a temple audio board up recently that I really like. It was used, but came with the iec cord, a patch bay for ins/outs and effect loops. I like their system for attaching pedals, although I mostly still will use cable ties.

for my setup - i'm thinking at 10-12 pedals, i'm gonna need a buffer in there, yeah? i was going to box up a single c-buffer for that. what have you folks done about loooooooong pedal chains?

For practice/gigging (which I haven't done in almost 2 years?) I guess I've never really needed more than my pedaltrain mini. Funny considering I have and build so many pedals. Granted, it's the only real board I've ever owned. It is about the same size as yours is. Holds seven 125B's with some extra wiggle room. I honestly like that it limits my options and keeps things simple.

But in regards to this thread and because I'm a nut I did do some minor tweaks to the board a few years ago. I hardwired a couple of mono jacks with cables for in/outs. Does it help? Not really, but I appreciate that it's there. Here's the underside.

I just stripped mine down to rebuild it with the builds I've done from here, had one of those holeyboards the original wooden ones, never bounded with it really, going back to something along the lines of pedaltrain

Edit: actually I have three boards I plan to populate one is a grab and go nano, the other two are about the size of a pedaltrain pro

Last year I build a very basic board out of Walnut and Birch scraps left over from my cab build.
I need to make a new one as I've added a few pedals, and have three more that I am working on, thanks to this got damn website! :)

Like Mr Kenobi I haven't gigged for a while but when I do I only use about three pedals (one of which is a tuner!) so the Pedaltrain Miniest is fine for me. At home I use the next up from miniest but have an office full of pedals. Right now all I have on the board is a tuner, a Strymon Flint, a TC Flashback and a couple of home-brew dirt pedals. The dirt pedals are constantly changing but are often my modded G overdrive and a modded BB I call Bob.

For gigs it's usually just a tuner, a dirt pedal and a delay.

Great ideas, everyone! Thanks for the inspiration, it's great to hear how you're all using your pedals out in the wild (as "out in the wild" we can get these days).

The band I'm in finally got our home studio set up a couple months ago, complete with isolation booths. Our "sophisticated" iso-booths are simply basement closets with windows installed (good for recording and corona-caution). I haven't figured out which pedal combos work the best for each song when we're practicing, and it's been fun to tinker with all the pedals while I'm honing it all in.

Here's my board. Apart from rearranging it a bit, it's been exactly the same since February/March!

Signal is: Pickdropper Fuzz of Tonebender (MK1.5 > Buzzaround) > Fish Factory > buffered 3-way splitter under the board (tuner / FX loop / Dry out) > DVP4 > Emperor > Nemesis > Ventris

This is the latest iteration of my board--just a piece of plywood with some Velcro on it and cut to the size of a little suitcase. I could probably use an upgrade. Ha. Likely to replace some of these with some upcoming builds, but a few have been there since the very beginning.

Christmas photo with the family... Lol... not quite...
My main gigging board at present, all DIY except TC tuner (doh...).

I just started putting this bad boy together! My dad is a skilled woodworker so he built this for me. I have a bunch of pedals on deck to build right now so as I get those done and start figuring out a more established layout I’ll start sticking them to the board and wiring them in with custom cable lengths. I had the board built this big because I figure I’ll grow into it. I don’t play shows or anything but I do need to be able to pack up quickly so my kid doesn’t get into anything and this serves that purpose perfectly.

These are ROUGH as I'm no woodworker, but in the last couple of weeks I built 2 boards out of pine bed slats I had lying around in the shed, one for storing pedals and studio use and the other for taking places when I'm playing. This is only a few pieces of my gear (generally digital, MIDI-controlled stuff) that I'm now adding DIY drives to. The unmarked white pedal is a Muroidea I just completed the other day. Finished up the wire job today. Ended up going with a one spot Cs6 for power. Zero dc issues and holy shit the Supro sounds insane running at 18v! Still need to zip tie the rat nest to tidy up but everything sounds amazing. I seriously appreciate all the massively helpful people here in the forum. You guys have made this a reality for me. And, I just had to turn off the lights... my teenage years flashbacks kicked in lol. 3ECEA6A3-DA50-4933-971D-46C3303B9CBA.jpeg 87CC11A7-44BE-47F1-A649-0CCDEF6C187F.jpeg 0E295AA1-3466-4F9C-8156-D03D1CC2D2AD.jpeg
