Looking for a 2 in 1 overdrive+fuzz

My bandmate is putting together a small pedalboard, I gave him my Speaker Cranker and he likes it, but would like a 2nd gain stage
Is there a PCB with an overdrive side and a "fuzzier" side?
Maybe the Duocast?
He has a very small pedalboard so putting together 2 pcbs isn't the ideal solution

If you keep it to simple / small circuits you can fit two into a 125b.

Adding a second footswitch for two Gain settings is also fairly simple

What kinda sounds is he into?

It's the first time he's playing electric since we're now a 4 piece band instead of 5, so he doesn't really have "preferred sounds"
We play alternative, indie rock so I was thinking maybe some versatile fuzz that can get nasty with an overdrive pushing it

The MiniMuffin can get pretty nasty (and, it's easy to mod), and would fit in a 125b with the Speaker Cranker. I haven't built the Cranker, so I wouldn't be able to tell you how it sounds pushing it, though

The El Sol / Acapulco Gold could be another good option -

If your after something with a bit more versatility, the Irrlicht is awesome- I'd liken it to the bastard child of a Rat and Distortion+. It can do a bright light overdrive up to a full range distortion bordering on a polite fuzztone

Okay, for the above suggestions — the larger 1590B-sized PCBs, you won't be able to fit much more than a one-knob boost or fuzz in with them.
Of those larger PCBs I tried to select ones with minimal controls; large should be no wider than 49.5mm (1.95"), so should fit 1590N1 with an extra one-knobber without too much fuss. Two 1590A-sized one knobbers in a 1590N1 will be no problem. I'd consider going 1590BB just for foot-space between stompers and can have more controls, like 2 1590B circuits, in place.

Also, the above list is only just what I selected off build docs from my Hard Drive —
if you peruse the PedalPCB Shop's OD/DIST/FUZZ you'll find many more.

Forgot about the Two Sticks, but I'd recommend that one, too. And, it fits in an enclosure with the Propolis

I'll have to limit myself to the PCBs carried by Musikding
...
Well if that includes the kits, that opens up a huge range of possibilities for you!

The "Zenith Mini" from GPCB would be a great compact Zen/YATS flavour, at MusikDing. Add GPCB's GBOF for a simple BazzFuss or two-transistor fuzz variant and you've got extremely compact pedal guts. 4-knobs for the Zenith and one or two for the GBOF and you could tuck them in a 1590B if you really wanted to — 9mm pots with Davies-style 1900 knobs.

Also check out MOONN, MAS, and DELYK on Musikding. All three of those mentioned have some very compact fuzz and drive PCBs.

I was playing around earlier tonight with a 1590BB and a bunch of PCBs.
Two 1590N1 sized PCBs won't fit in a BB, but a single N1-sized PCB with a 1590B-sized PCB (in most cases) will fit together in a BB.
Anything that's a 1590A could be easily paired with another for a very compact build; two 1590A-sized PCBs would be excellent in a 1590B3 , the big brother to the 1590B/B2, wider than an N1 but not quite as tall — a good middle ground between a BB and N1.

Happy hunting!

Yes I was actually looking at some Moonn boards, he has some nice small fuzzes!
Thanks again, we will meet saturday and listen to loads of demos!

So it turns out he really liked when he tried out a friend's Keeley Loomer, a dual fuzz/reverb pedal.
After a bit of digging it looks like the fuzz side is a Keeley PSI fuzz, or a Kinetic fuzz https://www.pedalpcb.com/product/kineticfuzz/
Only thing missing would be the mids switch but I guess it's doable

Are there any other IC Muff variants on PPCB? Especially with a mid knob

Well, the Dream Fuzz has the tone bypass switch, but I actually find it to be kinda congested sounding with the tone stack bypassed

There's the Sour Grape- It has a switch to shift the mid scoop

There's also the Polar Cap Fuzz, which has no mid scoop, but does offer a variable pre-clipping HPF, and a post clipping LPF

Then, there's the Cleric Fuzz that has a three position switch, that I believe switches between the classic scoop, a Rat type LPF, and an HPF

Sour Grape might be what we're looking for! Going into my next order
I've looked up the Keeley Rotten Apple and his store page is full of Smashing Pumpkins puns so it can't go wrong :D

There is the Ungula, which is based off the EQD hoof and that has a shift knob which essentially a mids knob. Also, the Colossal Muffin which is a Muff that has a mids knob. I can vouch for both.
