CONTEST Mark it Donnie!

This one isn't so bad, is it? I mean, I realised I was drilling in the wrong place and stopped before I ruined it. That's a win, right?

This is, of course, my SECOND attempt to drill an enclosure for this, my first pedal. Because I did ruin the FIRST one doing the EXACT SAME THING.

Wow, only 6 entries? Let's ponder potential possibilities.....

1. Most people do not make mistakes in their build and therefore have nothing to share.

2. Less than a dozen members actually drill their own enclosures.

3. The majority of members have zero interest in winning a gift certificate (which by the way, does not have to be spent on a drill guide).

4. Fig is weird. Avoid his contests at all cost.

5. It's Saturday morning, who cares?

6. I was googling a topper for my toast and ended up here.

7. I'm holding out for the Brand New Car! prize.

8.

9. What's up with #8?

10. You can't have 9 reasons.

I'll be adding an entry later today @fig when I get some time.

1- I make loads of mistakes but don't usually photograph them
2- I definitely drill my own enclosures
3- winning things is nice but the Irish learned years ago that taking part is more important. Mainly because apart from the eurovision song contest drinking competitions and village idiot awards we NEVER win anything
4- Fig is kinda weird but his competitions are not to be avoided. Why? Well because he said so. D'uh
5- I spent Saturday morning playing with my kid and taking pictures outside of my new tele (a thread will be posted later)
6- My favourite topping for toast is Skippy Peanut butter and honey
7- What kind of weirdo wants a new car over more pedals? Sick weirdos that's who.
8- Tumbleweed
9- yeah. What IS with number 8
10- 9 reasons are for suckers.

11. Pedal builders are analog and computers are digital... btw is it bad that while eating kaboom instead of flutie flakes this morning I didn't watch cartoons I signed into this forum... 90's me is disappointed.

11. I will post later but resizing photos to post on this site sucks and is an obstacle

Okay here is my entry, I drilled this monster enclosure for Brejna Voodoo Vibe and when I was done I was so fucking proud. Big build and I wanted this to work…. Then I realized I drilled it completely backwards.

Being cheap af i filled it in with this bondo type stuff and sanded it down to stuff this Mbp rustbucket in there.

I have a vomit comet enclosure mishap but I am working on a save for it…..

K so a couple years ago, I thought why not make my own drill templates? So I did using some acrylic. Turns out they sucked big time. I managed to drill a whole batch of enclosures with the top jacks template on upside down and nothing would fit. The last picture is one enclosure that I filled with jb weld, resprayed while masking the decal, redrilled, and saved. Hard to see cuz the jacks are in the way but it worked great and drilled fine. There was no saving the hammered copper one though cuz I can't respray it. Eventually I'll make metal face plates to try and salvage it 😬

The far left hole on the bottom of the larger piece of perspex of Harry's (still following me, right?), the one that looks like a malignant paisley — that's what my 1590A's hole looked like, but much bigger, before I took the file to it. 😸

So, Fig, when do you figure this contest will wrap up? I'm pretty sure I'm not in the running (is that good or bad?); Not a lot of contenders — should prolly hang on for a few more entries — another week or two?

Who will be ordained holier than thou?

Who will be ordained holier than thou?

At least my holes are round! (imagine that being a bragging right) Besides, my contribution was for inspirational purposes only 😁

Fewer entries makes it easier to choose the best...er, worst?

Call me Evil Knievel cuz I'm going to attempt to completely mark a 6-pot enclosure in less than 30 seconds. That'll likely be the easy part thanks to my new PedalPCB drill guide. Getting this die-looking doodad called a GoPro to work and video the whole thing [for posterity] will be the real challenge.
