So I know many people who use EP-Preamp pedals like the Clandestine (Chase Tone Secret Preamp) or Clinch FX EP-Pre tend to run them always-on (myself included). I assume the Clandestine layout was in part dictated by wanting to accommodate the big mojo orange drops and etc from the original?
IMO though it’d really be cool for a micro sized version (like a 1590a ideally!) that omits the footswitch and mojo parts to shrink it down as much as possible.
ClinchFX actually already makes a “Pico Pre” which is their EP-Pre in a switchless always-on format, I think it’s a 1590LB. Theirs has an external side-mounted potentiometer (no toggle switch like the Chase Tone), but maybe for size constraints it would be easier to make with just a trimmer for volume and a dip switch or something for bright/dark/mids??
Anyways food for thought. I don’t really have any schematic or clips to provide cuz I’m really just asking for a rework/new format for a pedal here that’s already been traced and verified and built and etc…
