Here comes the Sunn, diddle doddle …

While you can certainly rattle the neighbours’ crockery at stun settings, it really comes into its own (for me) at low gain levels. Toan for days and nice musical crunch without becoming harsh or strident.

As per a review on the shop site, I used 5458s in place of the called-for 5457s, since I save 57s for more finicky builds and because they are ‘rare and precious.’

I biased the 58s at 4V5 in each case and it seems to do what it’s supposed to, sound fat and warm and crunchy on demand.

Interesting. I didn't know you could try 5458s in this one. I will have to flop them to see what I think about the difference.
