The IVP and Meridian boards (ordered in the September sale) arrived today. The IVP has some fairly exotic parts (430R, 13k7 MFRs, Traco voltage converter, 42TM018 transformer, and no less than 14 pots). While I was waiting, I ordered these from Mouser (pots from Tayda), so I should be good to go in the next day or two.

Famous last words, if ever there were. Expect a build report some time in the next millenium, while I compile the BoM to find something crucial I've overlooked.

I need to take my time with this one (x100).

My interest was sparked by the Netflix documentary on Bob Weir awhile back (which just as suddenly vanished as it appeared). Apparently he was a well-known wielder of this (originally rackmounted) design. The abiding principle in this case: "If it's good enough for Bob, it's good enough for me."

Thanks for reading.

Wish me luck. NGBS.

I'm getting ready to build 3 of these... I've done one before... definitely going to be a marathon not a sprint... but I've got a cool enclosure on the way...

I built Aion's deconstructed IVP board (Isotope). Curious about how the full circuit sounds since my build wasn't my jam. Gonna take another look this weekend and might try swapping the 2n5210 for some 2n5088 and also use single coil guitar. Thought the gain was a little sloppy.

Bummed because I love the GD and Bob's tone was incredibly unique, was hoping to draw out some of those tone with my rig.

I built the PPCB version (Tube Sound channel only). It does the Albini distortion tone great, and actually works pretty good as a preamp/foundation OD…

I've been sitting on the aion IVP board for awhile. When I got it, it was over my pay grade. A year or so ago, I saved this reddit link in addition to trying to get the poster to share his artwork file. So far no luck with that.
That’s a nice design. Maybe it’s time to give your build a shot? I’m going to use Tayda’s drill service so I can focus on the build and not worry about whether it all fits neatly at the end. I don’t trust my drilling abilities with that quantity of pots and flashing lights to take care of.
