I guess it was just a matter of time until I tried a Rat build. I had fun playing around with this on the breadboard and ended up going with red LEDs for the clipping - they felt the most “Rat-like” to me.
When I first started down this hobby path, I figured I’d eventually move to Tayda’s UV printing service, so many here have wonderful examples of how they utilize that. But I’ve surprisingly enjoyed drilling, painting, and stamping things on my own, there’s something satisfying about doing all of that by hand - I didn’t expect that.
I’ve also been surprised about how I’ve come to enjoy the off-board wiring phase as well. It’s fun to find and use new tricks and procedures to make things look a little cleaner than you did previously - always room to improve.
