My uncle Howie Troob has a pretty killer guitar collection; primarily vintage and high end acoustics. But the last time I was visiting and we were jamming as we typically do, he pulled this out. A First Act Custom Shop Delia. It was part of a trade and he wasn't really bonding with it. Though to be fair it was in rough shape. Rusted frets, scratchy and non-working pots, dead strings. I was still able to cop some cool tones out of it and I think he could tell I was into it. He offered it to me on the spot but I politely declined. I have too many guitars as it is and don't really feel comfortable accepting gifts like that, even from family

Well! A few weeks later this showed up on my doorstep! He shipped it to me anyway and asked I play it in good health.

I was shocked! I immediately got to work cleaning it up. I spent most of my time getting the green rust off the frets and polishing them up. I bought some of that WD40 electronics cleaner and was able to de-scratch the pots. A full setup later and its a wonderful instrument.
Mahogany Back and sides. Flame maple top. Flame maple neck with an Ebony fretboard. Wide/thin neck. Kent Armstrong designed the humbuckers for the FA Custom Shop. They're very low output around 6.4k. It's an all around great addition to my arsenal!
Obviously I had to thank my uncle! Since his last name is Troob, I couldn't help but build him a Tube Screamer, hence the Troobscreamer.
I went with a Tayda Metallic Gold enclosure. Not Light Gold, and not Dark Metallic Gold. I stress this in case anyone is searching the forum for color examples like I was.
It's a stock TS808 except I used Green LEDs in the clipping section instead of the diodes it calls for. I really like these for a slightly bluesier sounding 808 compared with the RED LEDs I use in my 2-in-1 pedal The Big Sky.
Thanks for reading and thanks for watching!
