I was contemplating Fender 65 Princeton Reverb reissue. Then PRS dropped the DGT15. I was intrigued.

But the Fender was too rich for my wallet and the DGT15 was head only.

Then I stumbled across the Box AC15C1. Price was right, check.
Chimes, check.
Great overdriven tone, check.

So I bought a new one off Reverb and it is on my door step three days later.

Say hullo to my lil' friend!

It has the Celestion Greenback, which should be just fine. The Celestion Blue is the more authentic sound, but for my purposes and wallet, the stock config will suffice.

Psionic has some mods that improve sensitivity, but the little I played it, I find it to be very touch sensitive out of the box, IMO.

I picked up a used Vox of the same model a couple years ago. I could honestly get rid of all my other amps and just use it solely. Great amp.

I built a Mission Amps 5E3 years ago and that has been my only amp over the last several years.

The Vox checks all the boxes for me. My Strat into the normal channel is perfect.

Anxious to see how my army of pedals works with it.

If you’ve got something with P-90s, it’s just a wonderful combination! (Not that that amp won’t sound great with most pick ups.) Now, you’ll need to look for a trem and a reverb pedal to build😉.

Nice!!

I had one of those, but the whatever-c2 version that was in the bigger AC30 cab with 2x12 greenbacks. I thought down the road I'd try to get some Alnico Blues for it, but I really liked the greenbacks. Never tried anything else.

I have a HB semi-hollow Tele style with P90's.

Doing some work on it but will be pushing it through soon enough.

The 3 spring tanks them put in 'em are really really dark with a long decay. Change it to a 2 spring tanks and it's way better.

I have heard comparisons between the two and think both bring something pretty good.

For now and foreseeable future, Greenback will be fine. If the Blue were a lot less expensive, I would consider trying them. But they are wayyyyy beyond my budget.

That was definitely a deciding factor for me as well. The speakers would have cost almost as much as the amp itself.

The best price I can find currently is $267. The MSRP is $320.

Lol, they can ask what they want but my money won't be going into those pockets anytime soon. Not to go off on a tangent, but frankly I'm getting a little more than fed up with the rampant gouging everywhere you turn.

The Greenbacks are a fine speaker and since I'm not familiar with the amp at this point there is no sense in replacing it.
