I am having an unbelievably good day today because I just got to meet this thing:

This is a Reverend "Descent" baritone with a fancy exclusive paintjob. It's tuned B-E-A-D-F*-B.

What's special about the Descent, compared to other baritone guitars, is that it was designed to feel as much like a normal guitar as possible. Rather than the more standard 27.5" baritone scale, it's only 26.75" which is a lot closer to the 25.5" that most of us are used to. Also, the bridge is pulled back into the body so that the player doesn't have to reeeeach to play open chords- here it is next to a standard guitar for comparison:

Anyhow, it feels amazing to play and sounds fantastic. I really don't deserve anything this spectacular, but here it is!
 
That is gorgeous! I love Reverend guitars. Their designs are fantastic and their quality control is top notch. I have been eyeballing their baritone guitars for a while. I own a Club King RT that I got new in 2009 and is my main jazz guitar. Lovely instrument. I am very jealous of your new acquisition!

I'm a huge fan of theirs as well, this may not be the last Reverend I own..

Yeah, last time I spoke of it I couldn't find any good pics so here's a fresh one. I need to clean up that fingerboard, it's a really cool piece of bocote but it's looking pretty dark these days. Otherwise it's 2 piece maple neck, mahogany body with a redwood top. I put gfs 90s in it intending to upgrade later but it sounded great so they've been in there 15 years now.

One of the jazz dudes I went to school with just picked up a sort of Nashville Tele looking Rev bari recently. Looks pretty nice.

Oh wow- I haven't seen this one, I must be remembering a different builder. That's some really nice work, you made something special there.

I'm not familiar with the model your friend has but that clip sounded really sweet. In addition to the great-sounding guitar, he knows 3-4x more chord voicings than I do, and it shows..
 
That’s a pretty sweet ride! My Schecter is a 26.5” scale and it doesn’t really feel that much different.. but it’s feels less cramped from the 12th fret on up…I’m a big fan of the baritone scale lengths
