To take advantage of the break room format thought I'd ask for some music recommendations. I'm always looking for music recommendations (guitar music or otherwise) and thought I'd try and coax some out of you lot especially as I'd imagine there's probably quite a variety. In general I'm a hardcore punk guy but I'm looking for something in every genre. I'll start on what I'm digging...
1. Her Name is Calla - Animal Choir. It's not exactly Radiohead but if this was Radioheads newest album it would've been their best album in a long time. The album is expansive and engaging. Criminal that they split around the release of it.
2. Vennart - In The Dead, Dead Wood. Mike vennart is an incredibly sick individual with a great mind for tasty guitar licks and sick riffs. His best solo album to date but his work with Oceansize (especially on 'The Frame') is essential listening.
3.Clipping. - Visions of Bodies Being Burned. As far as modern hip-hop goes there is no one better than clipping. No guitars in sight but wonderfully dark listening but with really dark, cold and disconnected vocals from rapper daveed diggs.
4.Arcane Roots - Melancholia Hymns. Andrew groves might be my favourite singer/guitarist combo. That band could do no wrong. Their foray into electronic sounds coupled with his unique vocals and extraordinary guitar playing is just the best. Their entire back catalogue is essential but melancholia hymns is the best album overall. I'd say though if you're needing convincing the listen to triptych cus that song is mental.
Don't base any suggestions on what I posted cus I want to hear anything that is good. I'm excited
