So, whilst visiting the Jazz and Arts festival in Dahlonega, we happened upon a booth selling "Panjo's" it's basically a 3 string Cigar Box Tuned DAD and the fretboard is Diatonic like a Dulcimer (took me a minute to get my head around that) My sister decided with my birthday approaching I needed one for playing tunes around the campfire at our new Camper site, which happens to be next door to hers. It's basically a novelty, has one real fret at the nut the rest are wood strips and has a cheap Piezo pick up, but it actually plays fairly well and sounds pretty okay, I'll snap some pictures later

Seagull makes a refined version called a "Merlin" tuned DAdd, and yes, the high D is doubled gives it a Sitar like sound, basically it's a strummable Dulcimer, also "Strumstick" is another brand, but they be proud of theirs (pricey)

Dude, CBGs we’re my thing for awhile. Made a few, sold a few. The history behind them is pretty interesting. Bo Diddley was know for making and playing them. I never fretted mine, they were slide only.
