No more 99 cent shipping from Tayda!?!

Okay i lagged on ordering, but I just placed an order and got an interesting shipping result when I clicked thru. This is to Canada.

I’m fully expecting to still get hit with DHL’s BS, but at least I’ll have recourse to perhaps recoup the cost from Tayda if that’s the way it’s been advertised to me. 🤔

Should find out in a week or so, it’s public holiday time over there so they warned me it could be 4-5 days to pack it up, no biggie.

Thailand post was 31 bucks, just to compare 😂

You might get it sooner than you expect. They keep that “delays due to public holiday” message up year-round.

I did an order on Monday with the DDP option to Germany. My experience with it in the past is good. I’m glad it’s there again!

I don’t foresee any issues, was just surprised it was basically the same price as the other express/DDP payable orders. I’ll take it though! 😂

It seems DHL does the under promise, over deliver tactic. Both it and jlc order came in two days before the original date.

Yeah it's super odd, but maybe is a CYA ? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

it looks like tayda brought back cheap 30 day shipping option but it’s $3.99 now instead of 99 cents. At least for US shipping options

... I’ll take it though! 😂
Even better if you GO GET IT!

I've discovered, at least for UPS, once I have the tracking number I can contact them and say I'll do my own brokering. Caveat:
Then I have to go to the airport's Canada Customs location to pick it up. Time, gas-money (it's on the complete opposite side of the city from me and then some)... IT's STILL WORTH THE TRIP, 'cause I'll combine it with other errands. Since I've only recently found out about this "loop-hole" or wutchamahkillit I've yet to try it. It'll happen, probably next order from SBP or BLMS.

I wonder if there's a cheap 30-day shipping option for Canada...

Well I got it today. I haven’t had to pay anything extra which I usually do to have DHL release it to me. With FedEx I usually get a bill in the mail later so unless DHL has switched to that mode of operations I think I’ve unlocked the code for DHL to Canada. 😂

Wait.... what? A 99 cent option? FML. I always wait until I need enough to justify 10 bucks in shipping. I usually will jump to mouser cause it is closer to 8 but the parts cost doesn't make it a deal, but it has the stupid ones part that tayda doesnt have. A 5v shunt transistor thing.... come on....damn you cornish....who does that!?

Oh damn, you mean I could have gotten cheap shipping from Tayda. I just spent $7.00 to have Mouser ship me $30 worth of Fets and Transistors.

EDIT: Next you're gonna tell me that Robert is offering a 15% discount on PCBs -- oh wait, damn...
