Noisy Tearjerker...

Anyone else have a noisy Tearjerker? Coming off bog standard Crybaby’s my whole time playing, I’m getting an elevated noise floor on my Tearjerker build.

Just curious is this is normal. I know vintage wahs were quite noisy so I’m not complaining, just wanting to make sure I didn’t miss something somewhere.

Bumping this up since I'm interested in building a Tearjerker too.

I sold a Crybaby Classic which was very quiet to buy a US made Vox 847 cause I like the tone more but it's very noisy.
Changing the pot hasn't fixed it. Maybe it's the inductor?

I’m wondering if it’s the buffer in the modern Dunlop crybaby’s that’s mitigating things.

I've never seen this mentioned in any guide for true bypassing a Crybaby. It seems the buffer's only function is to make up for the volume loss but I'm not in a position to understand how buffers work.

I’m not sure. It’s not a grounding issue. I’m wondering whether I should try and remove the LED and see if it’s proximity to the pot wires are injecting some power supply noise b

I figured it out!

I can't believe it didn't click with me but the wah is sitting directly above the power strip that has 3 wall warts for 2 of my power supplies and the Good Vibes.

Took it off the board and on the floor and it was dead quiet!

Just need to reconfigure the next time I break it all down.
