Now Playing... What are you Listening to Right Now?

I haven't listened to this song in years, but it randomly popped into my head

I'm a pretty big fan of CAKE. They are in my top five for sure, my top three on the right day. My signature here is a lyric from Rock n Roll Lifestyle. They are probably the band that I have been listening to for longer than anyone else - consistently, at least.

One of my favorite things about being a father is seeing my kids processing music that was important to me growing up. I so rarely listen to the "big" albums anymore. It's been a nice excuse to break out the low hanging fruit for them. Watch them vibing hard without understanding why they're moving their toes. This mornings yazz brainwashing.

I know exactly what you mean - that feeling of watching my daughter just instinctive start to move to music makes me feel so much joy. It also really makes you believe that some songs are just objectively great.

Here's one that my kiddo instantly started moving to as soon as it started:

One of my favorites! Excellent choice! My kids prefer Taylor Swift to jazz unfortunately. I mean she’s great but still!

This week I've got Billy Strings on a loop since I'll be going to see him on November 19.

I just stopped listening to Steve Vai who I'd been listening to on a loop the past month before seeing him in concert on October 25.

I bought Passion and Warfare on cassette back in Ireland as a 14, and have been waiting 31 years to see him live. That finally happened and it was mind blowing

Ive listened to this album a couple times over the past few days since I've been reading Cracked Media, which I mentioned in the reading thread. I didn't know anything about glitch prior to that book. I can't say necessarily that I enjoy this, but it's interesting for sure.

Another good one for a rainy day.

Bill's good for any weather, though.

I ended up in search of ordinary things
Like how can a wave possibly be?
I started running, and the concrete turned to sand
I started running, and things didn't pan out as planned
