Now Playing... What are you Listening to Right Now?

I discovered these ladies last night and absolutely love everything I've heard so far. I'd love to see their pedalboard too, they're making some really cool noises, especially the bass player.

It's cool to see someone so young rocking a Westone Thunder!

The new tomb mold record is so good! Very prog-y but not obnoxious. I really liked their aperture of body ep and it seemed like a change in sound was on the horizon.

Still need to listen to blood incantation but I'm looking forward to it.
I wasn't sure about luminescent bridge until I heard it. I never bothered with timewave zero because I don't need to listen to planetarium soundtracks. I enjoyed the enduring spirit. It's very adventurous and different

Been re-listening to the incredible ween show I saw on Thursday. Waiting for some more tapers to upload their stuff since this is missing 12 songs, but this one’s better than nothing

I almost took a random trip to NY just for the rooftop show. Gonna save my cash for a good 2-3 night run though like a responsible-ish adult. Bummed there’s no Halloween shows this year unless they do a last minute announcement. I’ll be there if they do 🤞

Every time I listen to this album I want a fretless bass. This entire album is just a masterclass in creating incredible basslines.

A few years ago one of my closest friends surprised his wife with tickets to see Paul. Evidently she's mostly into EDM so her response was "thanks, but who's Paul Simon?" I happily accepted her ticket. Got to check off one of my bucket list shows since Bakithi Kumalo was on bass and they did a few of the Graceland tunes.

Also, build that fretless! They're fun as hell.

Being able to see Bakithi play in person has got to be pretty incredible.

I had an SX fretless ages ago. I ended up trading the neck for a Boss Bass Chorus and Pignose bass amp and replaced it with a Warmoth P neck. I asked my dad to paint the body and he screwed it up so I replaced the body, too. I wish I'd have never messed with the original SX, though. Those early 2000's SX's were actually pretty decent instruments, electronics aside (and I'd replaced the pups with Bassline Quarter Pounders).

Was in a jazz/RnB kind of mood this evening so I'm gonna plug an old friend from high school that I was listening to while making dinner:

Followed by an absolute fireball of an RnB artist, Ella Mai; this is the song via which I discovered her a few years ago:

And one of my other favourites off that album:
