Now Playing... What are you Listening to Right Now?

Upon a bit of introspection (which is constant for me), I think I may have stumbled back upon the album that made me fall in love with guitar pedals. I dabbled in much Korn and other heavier shit before this, but this was a Canadian band doing things so it hit harder (also my high school band did a number of these songs). Early 2000s CanCon 🦫 🇨🇦 🍁 🥲

I agree. 1987!!! So no concerts near me I am afraid.
Unfortunately I don't think John Lurie will ever perform again. He recorded a couple of albums under the pseudonym Marvin Pontiac, also very good, on guitar and harmonica but his Lyme disease keeps him from playing sax. He paints all the time now and I love his art too.

Detroit has lots of love for F11. Seen them so many times, I caught every album era live from tip to life turns electric. Granted they fell off after them vs you vs me. I got into them in the 90s since we got Canadian radio here. When I saw them at a meet and greet on their self titled album they got a good chuckle out of signing this. Such a great album.

I was listening to Ann by The Stooges, and the outro rhythm made me realize…that’s where monster magnet got that shit from. Luckily, Mr Dave Wyndorf has always been forthcoming with his influences and I don’t take slight to it. Both of them kick ass.

2:00 into this

And 1:40 into this

C’est la vie. I like what monster magnet did with it a lot more but I am a fanboy.

My favorite example of this is twin earth and mesmerization eclipse

randomly stumbled across this banger this morning. Don't know anything about them but this shit is rockin.

edit: So I guess this is the side project of Australian dungeon synth artist Quest Master. But this is a million times better than dungeon synth stuff. I always end up clicking on dungeon synth albums because they have kickass album artwork but the music is always terrible. That explains how this ended up on my youtube feed tho.

double edit: listened to this album twice at least. love this shit. whole album is gold. bought a shirt, cassette and stickers.

Went to see Jinjer on Friday, and my GOD what an amazing show. Such a great vibe, everyone there (myself included) was just totally lost in the groove the entire evening. Those four are absolute beasts at their instruments and also some of the best sound quality I've so far experienced at a metal concert. I hope they come back soon.
They were preceded by this prog death band I'd never heard of called Entheos that I also kind of vibed with,
And while watching this, I happened to see that Mastodon has a new single...
This track rips, and that outro riff is huge, but the title/subject matter of this and not hearing Brent where he "should" be in this is... weird.
