So I built it all up played it before boxing. Couple days later box it up. Doesnt work. Open it up to find at some point boxing it up the 2n3904 fell out (oh I hear you all I used the good sockets!) . My question is ...If I applied power to the board without the 2n3904 in would that fry either of the 2sk30a's or either the cd4013 or cd4027? or fry anything on the board? thanks

I wouldn't think so. It may be possible that it physically shorted something if it was moving around the board. I'm guessing it did not work after you put it back in? Did you try another 3904?

Correct! Did not work and yes tried another 2n3904 also popped in another cd4027 with no luck. Thought maybe applying power while missing the tranny could possibly fry delicate cmos ic's. This has got me stumped since that is the only thing I can see wrong and it worked just fine before

As you know it worked previously it sounds like you need to use an audio probe to work through the circuit to track down where signal isn’t passing.

There are loads of stuff online to work out how to make a probe if you haven’t made one before.

Re Flowed solder joints and all is well ! Sounds and works fantastic
Just a little more to say and that is the more I play with this pedal the more I wanna play guitar as I get older and the chance of becoming a guitar god left town decades ago I have internal struggles sharing and splitting my time between building and playing (somewhere in there is job wife and kids. Anyways great pedal!!!
