Orange Drop - So much TOAN!!!

My bridge tone pot died on my strat and I broke the factory cap trying to remove it so I decided to upgrade to an orange drop. I was a little shocked when I opened the bag, SO MUCH TOAN!

No idea how I am going to fit that in there but I am going to try.

They are both .047uf I believe. The smaller MAY be a .022uf. The orange drop is 400v, not sure what the one that came off my strat is. I have read on the forums that the orange drops are "night and day" better so gonna give it a try,

Those two are the same value?
Is the new one rated for a significantly higher voltage or something?

I built a device that switches polarity on a cap, and you plug it into an amp. This is to find the noisiest end, which is the foil end and needs to point to the part of the circuit with the least impedance. You simply put the cap next to a neon light or other very noisy device, and flip the switch.

In my testing I found that PIO caps are so good at blocking RF that it is nearly impossible to determine the foil end. Orange drops pick up quite a bit of hum and buzz tho.

The TOAN is about the same, really, but far less noisy with PIO.

Orange drops can get quite big, depending on value and rating. I guess they must be big to contain all that toan.
Don't forget dielectric! Some are polyester, some are polypropylene. Polypro tends to be larger given the same value.

According to the GCJ reddit, toan comes from the balls.

If it is true that those orange drops contain all the toan, then it follows that they must, in fact, be full of balls.

In which case...Cornell Dubilier must pay for their crimes against testes.

Do I need the ZZ to get the ZZ Top sound or do I need to add a beard?
Very hard to find bearded capacitors these days.

FWIW I find that it's the girth of a capacitor which indicates TOANZZ. A beard is a strong indicator of soulfulness and authenticity. The other important fact about toan capacitors is that you mustn't actually use the toan knob except on a Les Paul or 335 for wooman toan. The toan comes from the radiance of toan, not from the electronic interaction. Toan, and even mojo to some extent, rely very little on physics.
