This was a return to one of my first PPCB builds.
I ordered the non-Boneyard version before I had grasped the importance of the esteemed @Chuck D. Bones mods. His deep circuit analysis prompted me to carry the mods out anyway. I socketed the transistors, LDR, and LED accordingly but could not get it to function correctly at the outset.
This was because I was testing it in daylight. Once tentatively boxed up, it sprang to life.
Sockets gently soldered for security, IOW so the parts don't dislodge at a critical moment (as below).
Could not resist taking a leaf from Private Eye's book. Apparently the UK newspaper the Guardian was prone to typo's in earlier times and Private Eye nicknamed it 'The Grauniad' accordingly. Warden to Delegate to Guardian to Grauniad seemed a fairly natural progression TMM.
Having finally figured out my errors in testing and confirming the assembly, it sounds very transparent and has plenty of juice and toan available. Have tried it with humbuckers and await the right moment to try it with an active bass or two. As always, thanks for reading and please have lots of fun building something useful or entirely frivolous (your choice, naturally).
