SOLVED Oroku — not shredding — has anyone else assembled this?

Hello folks I just put this together and it plays fine and all but the sound is very dull it sounds like my amp is covered in thousands of blankets.. there no real brightness or crunch.. it’s pretty bland and dull off a distortion… it doesn’t shred for sure… I’m wondering if the shredmaster is a low gain to mid gain pedal… only thing I did differently was c4 I put a 33nf instead of a 39nf … any thoughts

The Shredmaster is not a high gain pedal by any means. That said, my Oroku is not at all dull. Crunchy at highest gain setting. One of my faves. I wouldn’t imagine your cap sub would make tremendous difference Fwiw.

I’m taking it as a given that you’ve verified all the values and inspected carefully. That said, the LPF at the output (formed by the 1n cap in the feedback loop of the last op amp stage) is kinda extreme. Try subbing 470pf or 390pf there.

I’m not familiar with a feedback loop but that’s what this pedal sounds like there’s no feedback it’s very dull distortion.. I will give that a looksee. Here’s the schematics

Before you do that, replace this cap with the correct 100p. You've got 100n there now, and that's what's killing your signal

Wow eagle eye ! I owe you big time I think what I should do is start penciling in the values next to caps and resistors on the first page of the building documents.the best part is I can get to that cap without taking out a potentiometer.
