Pair: Cap'n Crunch Deluxe and Pipe Stretcher

When somebody made a best of 2025 builds thread, I realized I had only built one pedal in 2025, and that was a fuzz face for a friend. About time I completed something new. I was able to wrap up two builds this week. It's been a while--my offboard wiring regressed being rusty, so it looks a bit janky.

I did a Captain Crunch before, actually the second build I ever did from PPCB. At first I was lukewarm on it, but it grew on me, especially as I amassed more overdrives to compare to, and realized it was pretty decent. I gave it away, and put the deluxe version in my queue. This deluxe version has a lot of options--too many if you ask me-- but it does sound great and I can get the original version sound (choosing the middle mode and the led clipping puts the distortion section in the same configuration). I'll have to explore all the options.

The other is the Pipe Stretcher. The Tube Bender is supposed to be a cross between a Tube Screamer and a Tone Bender. My initial impression is that the description is apt, a good fuzzy sounding OD and I'm looking forward to spending more time with it. I also applied the Aion modification, which is changing the filter switch from a two position to a three position, and wiring an "in-between" setting on the extra location.
