Howdy, this is my first pedalpcb build and one of my first pedal builds in general. I just finished putting together the Pauper (Prince of Tone) and it doesn’t work. Bypass works. When engaged it makes a loud screech that changes frequency when adjusting the gain knob. The LED does not turn on either.
A couple of important notes.
1) I used a 1u polarized electrolytic cap on c15 because it’s all I had. I’ve switched it both ways and it doesn’t change anything. Also I did not put a 1u in c8 position, because again I didn’t have one on hand and I was told by an expert that c8 doesn’t do much on this circuit so I could emit it.
2) As this was my first build, I stupidly soldered the 3-way switch on the front side of the pcb, not knowing that it and the pots should be soldered on the backside. So I clipped off the old 3 way switch I had installed and tossed it and installed a new one on the front side. Unfortunately it pulled the pcb pad off the bottom right lug. So I’m not sure if there’s any connection there. I hope I don’t have to toss this pcb.
Is there a way to test if there’s a connection at that switch lug? Maybe someone who can read circuits better than me could tell me if I can run a jumper if that is the issue to wherever that lug connects to see if that solves the problem?
Thanks for any help with this!
