OD is Glorious

Some folks do not like this circuit and I was one of them. This build is different. It sounds terrific. I socketed everything so that I could change things out if the circuit sounded bad; It sounds great. I would put this one on my board. It has a creamy overdrive that can get fuzzy if you crank the drive. The tone knob works better than many other OD knobs, that W20k is the special sauce. I used vinyl letters and clear coated the top. Everything is green here. Switchcraft jacks, Lumberg D.C. 20mm knobs, 5mm LED and a 3kg footswitch.

Anyway, I was so unhappy with the first build I was too embarrassed to even give it away. Maybe because it was one of the first that I had made, it was my poor skills? In any event, if you were underwhelmed by the Nut Driver build maybe give it another try.

Hell yeah glad you got it to a point that you like!
Did you happen to write down any of the component swaps? Seems like all the box caps are stock values. Hard to tell with anything else. I'll have to get around to modding mine at some point.

I followed the build documents exactly including using BC 549C instead of the BC 549B that I used on the first build. I was prepared to swap out components but it sounds wonderful. I have to think it was a problem with my build the first time. I’ve certainly got a lot better at building and especially soldering.
