I grabbed the Basstortr PCB because, you know, BASS!
I didn't even bother trying to find out, what it is supposed to sound like .... so when firing it up, I was like "Hmmm, pretty good, but not as dirty as expected, sounds like a boost with the Drive dialed back - and that bright switch is a bit useless, innit?".
Then I found out that it is supposed to sound like a SVT stack and everything made sense. There is that touch sensitive growl or whatever you might call it.
I never played an SVT, except for that one time in a shop in NYC, but have been using - and loving - the little one, a V4B.
So, nice pedal, that delivers in the boost to low/mid gain scenario.
It was a smooth and easy build.
And now back to my ususal programm: FUZZ!
I already made one or two of those Fuzz O))) pedals, based on the Sunmachine offering from the past. I used to own one of those from Sunmachine and sold it after building my first copy. It's basically a Meathead with a pre-gain/lowpass potentiometer and a 3-way input cap switch. The OG was advertised as a Doom Drone Device, I think. I love the sound, it brings some serious bass heavy, saturated and sustained wall of sound fuzz.
You know: Maximum volume yields maximum results.
I made this one mainly just because Sunn O))) will be playing a show in my town in June. And then I went through my "silly caps" stash and thought, let's use some of those, throw in some big resistors (2W, carbon comp) and call it "Mojo Edition".
The vero layout is from dirtboxlayouts. I just added some "extra lines" to fit a few things a bit easier.
