PSA: Affinity Designer v2 released, 40% discount

Sunzebeeches.

I called their bluff and said "Fine, f**kit, we'll do it live ✏️, cancel anyway!"

Wait wait wait, what if we give you two months free?

Yes. I'll wait two months to cancel. That'll knock that early cancellation fee down some. Reminder set.

Yep, the layer issue appears when using an Adobe (or other) product to open a PDF that was exported by Affinity.

The file opens in Affinity Designer correctly, but when opening with Illustrator the layers are incorrect (or non-existent).

I was reading this as PDFs exported from Affinity will not work right for Tayda UV printing because the layers are in the wrong order when Adobe opens the exported PDF. So in case others were mis-reading it like me, I wanted to add that it does not seem to matter.

I just got back my first prints made with Affinity Designer, and despite the layers in the PDF being listed backwards in Adobe - the Tayda print comes out correctly if the layers were in the correct order when exported from Affinity Designer.

Yep, I used it forever. I was always afraid one day a Windows update was going to break it.

Affinity is a one-time purchase (at least until a new major version comes out, like today).
I really didn't like the Windows updates after Windows 7. I have my PC locked in at the latest Win7 updates and froze it there. Still running Adobe CS 6 Suite with no updates for years and it's running like a champ. Duplicated the hard drive for posterity so I if/when I need to build a new system, I can start from there and just re-hash the Windows 7 license.

And jumped on the Affinity Suite as well for my new MacBook Pro.
