Purple Chorus (Analog Bi Chorus) board for sale anywhere?

I'm about ready to call it this layout "done" for now and send it off for fabrication.

I think this was the hardest layout I've done. Cees put this in a 1590XX and I wanted to cram it in a 1590BB2. And he had it laid out horizontally, which I wouldn't mind for the 1590XX but I don't like horizontal 1590BB2s, since they don't line up with 125Bs... But in the end I was able to jam it in and retain the same basic layout he has for the controls.

But what really drove me nuts was the DPDT switch mostly connected to the footswitch, which meant threading a bunch of traces across the entire middle of the board. That and not really liking having to squeeze in the full 9 pins for the one footswitch, which I mostly moved to offboard wiring. I think I procrastinated for a month because these two things made it look so damn ugly and I couldn't find a solution. If this thing works then I'm reasonably happy aesthetically with the way the board is laid out.

Below is the layout with the board and footswitch outlines for size. This is a lot larger than Pedalbuilder used (my board measures 89.5mm across rather than 81.75mm, and the bottom can only accommodate regular footswitches, not bypass daughterboards). I have every expectation that something is wrong with this layout and I'll have to build it 2 or 3x.

I'm with you 101% on vertical 1590BB to match 1590N1 and horizontal 1590XX... the 120mm paradigm!

Then to more-or-less match the control-layout with Cees'...

Just checking to see if there is an update on this one :)
There's an update but it's not quite the one I wanted. I've ordered the boards and I populated one. Certain aspects work, and certain aspects don't. Notably, it doesn't sound like a chorus (but it does have blinking lights and dry signal)! So right now it's mostly in the "not working" category. It's a huge board and I don't yet know if the problem is in my schematic, the layout, or if I mispopulated a component.

I've done some debugging and @Cybercow has volunteered to help debug as well, so we're making progress... but I had hoped I'd just be able to say "it's working now."

Thanks for the update. It seems like a pretty big ordeal. To bad no one has an original board that could be used to verify for the cause.

I think actually Cybercow has an original. I think I just botched something with the layout or in populating the board.

I have a few of your layouts waiting in my pcbway cart from your other cee’s ventures. I was hoping to wait for this one before i ordered though. I wish I would have known about skidmark beforehand. It seems like he did some pretty cool stuff. I can wait, i have other boards gathering dust that need to be done, lol. I will admit I am a sucker for a good chorus pedal.

Any update on this awesome project? 😄
I've still got this in my queue for troubleshooting. I have one unpopulated board that I've been going over (can't seem to find any problems with it). Next I'll be populating art to test the circuit. It's currently back-burnered whilst I get some customer repairs done.

No update recently. As Cybercow mentioned, he and I have been looking at this, I've double-checked the schema, the layout, the components - and I'm not sure what's going on. If I could sit down for a day and really dig into it I might be able to figure it out, but I haven't had the time. If I had to guess it's a soldering or bad component problem (there were 1-2 bugs with the board initially that got sorted out).

If someone is good at debugging complicated boards , wants to take a crack at it, and is in the US, I have some spare boards and can send one.

Well, I suck at debugging and I'm not in the US but I don't mind being a guinea pig beta tester if you want to DM me the kicad file! It's winter here and I'm bored. I might just go ahead and gerber it anyways for my next batch on JLCPCB. I have all parts on hand and it's a risk I'm willing to take...
