Random industry connections

I met Pat Quilter's niece tonight at a PTA fundraiser. Apparently her kid and mine have gone to the same school for several years. We had a neat chat about QSC and its history and connection to Quilter Labs and Neunaber Audio. Extremely random considering the small town in which I live in southeast Georgia.

I also was standing in line behind a guy wearing an Alexander Pedals t-shirt at a music festival last year. Turns out the founder is his cousin.

What's your favorite random industry connection story?

I knew about local (Nashville) pedal company Monkey Riot since near their launch a while back.
A couple of days ago, I found out Mike Purcell is behind it. We worked together at the same studio complex for a few years in the aughts. He was a head engineer and I was an intern turned 2nd.
Met a lot of industry ppl in Nashville. But it was funny finding that out way down the road...

It’s you. You are my random industry connection. My buddy owns a local music store. Joe Bonamassa was in the parking lot waiting for him to open, tour bus and all. About 3 tours ago.

Robert Keeley, through my half-cousin on my mom's side.

They grew up together in Oklahoma. Even got my old black-label CE-2 modded for free back when I was a teenager.

Never met the guy. My cousin's a cool dude though. His sticks are my sticks.

Tangential: I had a client for about a year who realized one day was the wife of Mick Gordon. We got to talking, and she said he has multiple offices full of pedals/amps/rack gear that people have sent him.

I ended up making him a 8-bit guitar synth, and he loved it!

Cool! That’s a great story
