Real or fake 1n34?

Hello there -

I ordered some Germanium 1n34 online from a brick and mortar store, and something isn't quite adding up.

Did some testing and here is what I saw:

Fv .409v
Leakage 12.1 nA
Cap 9 pf

Right away saw the forward voltage is high, diving in more the leakage is low from what I am reading, should should be 5mA or more.

Thoughts?

That is a schottky diode.

There are tons of eBay sellers passing them off as germanium.

These schottky probably sound about just the same as any fancy ass 10 bucks a leg NOS 1N34A in any circuit

To be fair, there's actual 1n34 schottky diodes, if they sell them as germanium, shame on them

Yes, they were sold as "Germanium (GE) Diodes"
