Recommend transistors for Titania2 and Simulcast?

I've caught the pedal building bug again and ordered pcbs for a Crunch Captain Deluxe, Titania2, and and Simulcast. I do not have much knowledge of transistors but understand that they can make a big difference in fuzz circuits.

Anyone have recommendations for a "low gain silicon" for the Titania and an OC71 (or replacement) for the Simulcast? Thanks

Aion's version of the Hudson broadcast lists it as either a 2N404a or a MP20.

They specify a gain range of 60-80hfe and leakage under 100uA. Not a difficult target to hit with

A 1T308V/GT308V will fit that bill nicely. Russian transistors, their V looks like a capital B. I've got a bunch of those and they tend towards that range.

I'm a fan of the 2n222a in fuzz circuits. You could always socket em and try out a few.

The Titania build documentation recommends 2n222a, 2n2369, 2n3903 etc.

Try putting "OC71" into the search bar, there's a lot of great info here.

Thanks guys!

For the Simulcast I found a thread where someone used a GT402 with an hfe around 100; Stompboxparts has GT402s sorted with a gain range of 90-100hfe available, this should be a reasonable choice, yes? https://stompboxparts.com/transistors/gt402-pnp-germanium-transistor/

For the Titania I found in thread that the 2n2222a recommended hfe value is 150-200, preferably 180-190. I can't find anyone selling sorted 2n2222as though; is it best to just buy a handful handful and try them in a socket?

My DMM can measure hfe and has a socket attachment for reading transistors but I have not used it before and don't know how useful/accurate it is

2n2222As are good general purposes NPN transistors. Buy a few and use one that's in the middle of the ranges measured with your DMM.
MPS2222A and PN2222A are cheaper equivalents.

I highly suggest socketing the Titania Transistors and rolling through whichever transistors you go with to find a good sounding combination. Specifically the interaction of the pedal and volume knob helped me to pick a set with a wide range of available sounds. Good luck!

I used a 2N404A with gain of 200 in my Duocast. I read somewhere it wasn't too sensitive to amount of gain so I thought I'd use the high gain transistor there. It works fine.
