Salesman Diodes question

Building the Salesman now and I don't have any 1N60P diodes. Will a 1n34a or a BAT 46 work as a replacement?

Yes, either could replace the 1N60P.

From what I've read, BAT46 will behave differently and transition into distortion more abruptly than the Ge diodes, but whether that's discernible by the human ear or in a live-band context, I don't know.

You could always socket the diodes and compare them when you get your hands on some 1N60P, then solder in the type you like best after their audition.

Between the two I'd go with the BAT46.

The 1N60P's in the original were schottky diodes, not germanium.
