Catching up on some build reports.
Nothing I've built really inspired a demo and are all variants of other pedals I've built.
First up is this Samadhi Drive. Based on the Japanese Studio Daydream Dhyana.
It's essentially a Zen drive with some different clippers. I've been so taken with some of the Japanese boutique drives lately, my favorites being the Altero Kaede (Acer Drive) and the Minerva Drive (Sheepy Love Wise Ass).
I guess my expectations were pretty high for this one and I wound up being a bit underwhelmed.
It sounds like a low gain version of a Zen drive. I compared it side by side with my Zen and Simble drives which was probably a mistake.
It sounds thin compared to the standard Zen. But taken on it own for what it is, there's some really cool sounds to be had with it.
I used an Amperex OF129 Ge metal can diode for the Ge.
