Before I solder the inductor can someone please tell me how it should go

Just looking at the board's screenshot on the website, you'll have one pin of the inductor in one of the two pads closest to the input jack, and the other pin in one of the two pads closest to the output jack.

You may want to look again at the DC jack you've chosen to use. If you use a negative center DC plug, you're going to apply +9VDC to the housing which will short the board if it's electrically connected through the standoff to ground. Just a heads up.
