This is a board I got from @MichaelW. It's one he really likes and gets a lot of praise in the sense of a.low gain overdrive or boost. It's a Timmy variant that has a slightly different voicing. I had high hopes that I would like it pushing my Marshall...well I don't.
I don't think I would like a Timmy either. It's pretty bland, and stiff feeling. Uninspired is how I describe it. I compared it to many other lower gain drives and pretty much everything else I liked more. Oh well, now I know. I like something with a bit more character and compression. I think it's more suited to edge of breakup tones and rhythm playing. But for leads, gotta have that mid push and saturation.
The build itself was excellent as are all of Dave's pcbs. No film on bare enclosure. Maybe I'll find a use for this, or maybe I'll throw it on FB marketplace. Next one will definitely be a keeper
