Simulcast - Gain Doesn't Work

The pedal works with the exception of the gain control not making any change to the output. There also seems to be a small volume decrease when comparing bypass to having the pedal on with volume on full.

For testing I put in Q2 a 1T308B with an hfe of 85.

Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot are appreciated.

Hmm I am having the exact same issue. I can't quite make sense of it as probing seems to indicate that the gain pot is connected as intended.

I've reflowed, tried with and without the charge pump and nothing has changed. I've tried jumping across the gain pot pins and that didn't make a difference either.

@chork looking closely it appears OP had his pinout incorrect with the particular transistor chosen.. that tranny has an odd pinout and the collector is the center pin.... For you I'd suggest checking your particular transistor and compare you have it oriented properly.... as well as the usual suspects... check for component/resistor values correct and in their proper place.. bad joints and shoddy wiring... pots are insulated to the board etc. etc.. If you still wanna have a go at it start your own troubleshooting thread with good pictures....

I found what I thought to be the issue - I had popped a 1uf cap in where a 1nf should be, but in replacing the component I have somehow borked the entire thing. 1 step forward, 2 steps back.
