SOLVED Something Missing on My Abyss

I am relatively new to pedal building but have over 40 years experience in electronics troubleshooting. My weakness in life is being able to visualize things correctly, so as a result things like this happen. I wanted to build the Abyss. Unfortunately, there are no pictures (that I could find) of the side of the board where the pots are visible. So, having a 50-50 chance of doing it correctly, I probably did not.

Please, someone who has built this, tell me the correct orientation of the five pots. The way I built it the three pots at the top of the board extend beyond the top of the board, and the two pots near the bottom of the board are installed so that they are facing away (in the opposite direction) of the top pots.

I have a feeling that I should have installed all five pots in exactly the opposite fashion, so that none of the pots can be seen when you are looking at the component side of the board.

I am good at desoldering, but I just want to make sure I get it right the second time. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

The top three are correct, the bottom two should be flipped around 180 degrees.

While you have them off, be sure to insulate the back of the dual-gang pot (or leave a significant air gap) so it doesn't make contact with the PCB.

Whew! Thank you very much for the quick reply and excellent advice. I was aware of the need to prevent shorts to the board, but that's still great advice. I am thankful that I only made one mistake rather than two, so I only have to flip two pots instead of all five.

Thanks again!
