Son of Ben (Benson Preamp) 18v?

Can I plug my Son of Ben to a 18v power supply?
Benefits?
Do I need to adjust trimpots?

If your electrolytic capacitors are rated for 25v or more, then you should be good to go.

It should work without adjusting the trim pots, but you can always experiment.

Benefits would be much more headroom and clarity and probably lower noise floor. High headroom preamps are nice.

I’ve not built this PCB, nor played a Benson, but my Catalinbread DLS can be powered at 9 or 18v. They say it’s similar to the difference between a 50 and 100w Marshall...

It will change the gain structure. Read this article to better understand the gain structure. Fetzer valve
Play with the calculator at the end of the article and see how it affects the voltage gain when you change the voltage.
