Another nice surprise from @Robert. The "Closed Circuit Booster Limiter". Who knew such a great utility pedal existed? Not me. Anyway, here's my build out of it.

It's a boost and a mild compressor, but it's really known for being the secret to Angus Young's guitar sound from the late 70s and early 80s. Put it in front of an amp (or amp pedal) on the edge of breakup and it pushes it over the edge while maintaining clarity in chords and single notes

Nice Build! This circuit is one of my DIY favorites. It was my "always-on" pedal when I had a huge pedalboard. It still gets heavy rotation even though I only ever use 1-3 pedals in front of my amp now.

So, this unit functions are a pure limiter as well? Was looking around for a simple no nonsense peak limiter, but no dedicated units seem to exist. Usually you get it as some sort of bonus with a compressor, which I don't need.

IMO the limiter section of this circuit is far more subtle than a dedicated limiter. A decent, dedicated limiter typically has three main controls: threshold, release, and output ceiling. But it should still do a trick.
