Switch Popping, Duo Phase

Built my 2nd Duo-Phase (first one works great). There is loud popping when engaging both footswitches. Any ideas about where to look first before I pull it apart? It works wonderfully (no ticking, even) when it is on and does not pop when switched off.

Try lifting the diagonal jumpers from both of the stomp switches. You can put them back if no change.
Genius! So I lifted the grounding diagonal wire on each of the switches, and the popping is almost entirely gone. If I crank the amp, can still hear it some. So what would be the issue here? Would it make sense to replace the diagonal wire on each switch with a resistor or capacitor of some value? I have also seen people recommend replacing the 10uf outbound cap with a 1uf bi-polar cap. Any experience with that? Thanks, Cybercow.
