That moment when…….

I do stuff like that all the time. There is always something you forgot, moved a decimal, a Uf instead of and Nf, a logarithmic instead of a linear pot...too many of one thing not enough of the other.... anyway you can screw up an order I’m sure I have done it... but the plus side is you end up with bench stock you can play with.😬
 
Yeah, that’s what I get for having 6 projects going at once and a few w/o build docs. Luckily, I did need the 6n8 for a couple, but now I have to face the sting of shipping cost for a 10 cent part. Oooooor I just have to make it worth the cost 🤔….. this is how I get in trouble
 
I've just accepted the fact that I'll biff one or two things 75% of the time. I have 3 projects collectively waiting for 5 parts sitting on my bench. It's the perpetual excuse to order more stuff. It also means I feel extra special when I do have everything I need.
 
I feel you. I thought I had all the parts I needed for my next batch, put one pedal came up 3 capacitors short. I wasn't planning to make another order for a while, so I thought that pedal would have to wait.

Then the smallbear news came out, and so I ordered some stuff and used the opportunity to get those 3 caps along with my order.

I have parts. Lots of parts. Parts shoved, stacked, stowed, incoming, outgoing, opened, half-opened, never opened, lost, found, hidden, given, gotten, wrong items, too many, not enough, what the heck is this?, wait that was supposed to go to someone, out of those, can't find these, that guy was looking for one of these, why did I buy this?, 12 shopping carts waiting to checkout. Check THAT out! I need a half-dozen, just in case....
 
Oh I know the feeling!

This year I placed orders for nine separate projects at once. I organized everything into a spreadsheet and made absolutely sure that every part was ordered in sufficient quantity.

I ended up being short by two 3.3nF caps…
 
I built a noisy pt2399 pedal six months ago, I suspect it’s the chip. I didn’t want to pay shipping for just a few pt2399’s to sort.
So I waited six months, until I was placing a Tayda order for components for 3 new pedals.

I submitted the order and forgot the pt2399’s. :(

Then I completed the mouser order for the rest of the parts for the 3 new pedals.

5 minutes later I got the notice from pedalpcb that hydras were back in stock. :cry:

I guess I’m helping keep the shipping companies in business.

Better yet, how about spending two hours racking your brain trying to figure out why your led stays on when the pedal is off, checking for bleeding UF's and checking the switch for continuity, burning up led's as you go, finally I decide to disconnect the switch wire from the 3pdt board and the led went out, then it occured to me why did I have to turn the 3pdt over to see which terminal was the switch that's usually marked right on......
