GEoPcuS.jpg

To the best of my recollection, I’ve only powered it on to test functionality. It has the printed manual included.

Let’s do the random post # game. No guessing, no math, no fixed topic. Time is up @ Sat Jul 23 11:59P ET and I’ll fetch a random number on Sunday and viola!

I do have a question for you; What are your top three favorite make and model guitar (aka Fender Strat, Gretch ES-335). Thank you in advance for your opinion. It’s not necessary to respond to the question in order to win.

Any member who can receive post from the US, and posts a comment is eligible to win.

Good luck, may the force be with you, nanu-nanu.

I only have 2, so I really couldn't say. I have a Strat and a Les Paul with P90s. I think maybe I need more guitars.

I have two basses and three guitars so...guess I'll list my guitars. :P

Ibanez GRG7221M 7-String

Pretty much stock but did switch out the pickups for a more modern hard rock/metal sound

Gretsch G5220 Electromatic Jet BT

Switched out the hard tail bridge with a Duesenberg Les Trem II. It's better than a Bigsby in that it's a drop-in and seems less prone to tuning issues. I like it quite a bit! Nice feeling tremolo.

Squire Paranormal Cyclone

This one is an oddity. Mustang body, Strat pickups, and Jaguar switches. I wanted a guitar that was Strat-like but not a Strat per se. This certain fits the bill. Made a number of modifications. Switched out the pickups for the DiMarzio Paul Gilbert set, which includes two Injectors and a Area 67 for the middle. I tried some Fender pickups but they were way too twangy. I also added three switches for changing the polarity of the pickups. They work and allow me to throw a pickup out of phase but still need to play around with the concept a bit.

Going on aesthetics only (since Ive never played some of my objective favorites), and keeping acoustics and basses (and hybrid instruments like the bass vi or coral sitar) out of the running for the sake of simplicity, my top 3 would probably (maybe) be

1. Strat (I think it’s the perfect platform for wild modifications especially, and it’s comfy af)
2. Jaguar (I’m a sucker for chrome)
3. (Fender) Marauder (I’m a sucker for chrome pt. 2)

Limiting to one per brand, it’s probably:

1. Strat
2. Rickenbacker 381 (oooh “german carve” ogee contours)
3. Les Paul Recording Model (walnut!)

my 3 top guitar brands, ( because a high end lefty is hard to find). Kiesel, Ormsby, and Schecter/ESP these are brands that have went out of their way to cater to my handedness and scale preference.

Thanks for the opportunity @fig!

It's hard to pick but my three favorite electric guitars are:
1. Fender '59 American Vintage Reissue Stratocaster (with slab rosewood fingerboard)
2. PRS Silver Sky in Matte Moc Sand finish - I have yet to play one or see one in person but this is a lovely looking instrument.
3. 2010+ Fender American Standard Stratocaster

1. Fender Strat with a V-neck. No other neck profile can compare. Bonus points for low power pups. Tele is a super close call here.
2. Les Paul. Proper solid body and long tenon. So many tone options from soft to hard and in between. Heavy as feck and you need to stand to play but the range of what you can do. The SG is a damn close second, it’s a comfy play, no problems at the top of the neck, and a growl like a mama bear. I think you can get a smoother blues tone from a Paula though.
3. Ibanez RG. Precision engineering. The Lo-Pro Edge tremolo may not be the easiest to setup, but it’s a guitar which will not give you any roadblocks with what you can technically do. No pickguard though. Just two humbuckers and some splitting. Fav examples being my US RG30, and the JPMs.
