The 2025 Hit Me PIF thread - registration closed (update)

What did you get @Harry Klippton ?
Ok here's my pick. I tried to do my part to reduce the box contents. There's still lots of great stuff in here.

Rwl dudson narrow cast PCB, some white DC jacks, a pile of Naegele boards, sheepylove relay bypass stuff, some dual npn transistors, some fets and transistors, an op07 and couple metal can lm308s, daisy seed and funbox board, buncha bags and capacitors, and somma those pot breakout board thingies. Oh and a couple fader caps not pictured. Box is going to @Cybercow tomorrow

Ghah! Got a bug of some sort and slept for about 20 hrs. After looking over everything in the box, I chose only two things - some nice static-free baggies and a few CD4047s.

For the other portion of the PIF, I donated some office software to a local charity to better manage their inventory.

I've decided to wind down my pedal building and will be selling most everything related to it. That's why my pull is so stringent. However, on the bright side, the PIF box is now doubled in size & weight. It will be going to @CheapSuitG by Friday.

The box has officially landed in Colorado!

Had a minute to crack it open, JACKPOT!! Tons of antistatic baggies and bubble wrap!!!! How did you all know? Truly the two things I’m perpetually out of.

Sorry but going to be that guy, I am going to take all the baggies and bubble wrap, will just dump all the other "crap" straight back into the box, send it on its way. 😂😂

Need a day or 2, crazy week this week, but it will be on its way to @PapaBear soon!

I’m starting to think this box might be cursed! First people getting sick, and now this delay.

MrsFancyDressG is a vet and was bitten by a cat on Monday. The cat was in pain and not happy to be there, a younger tech was holding it with heavy duty gloves. The cat was about to break free and go for the tech’s face, so my wife stepped in and took the hit to protect them. Both of her hands got pretty torn up.

Cat bites are especially nasty, their teeth are covered with nasty bacteria and prone to infection. She went to urgent care right away and was started on antibiotics, but she’s allergic to penicillin, so the alternatives aren’t as effective.

Unfortunately, they didn’t work and the infection started getting worse. So the next step is the ER, we went in yesterday, she admitted, is taking synthetic IV antibiotics, but needs to be monitored so it is at least a two day hospital stay.

That said, "working" from home tomorrow and will get it out!

Oh man, that’s terrible. I’m sorry to hear that.

Well obviously, she's the priority, wishing her speedy recovery !

Holy crap! So sorry to hear this.

First off, thank you all for the kind words!

She stayed another night, they’ve been giving her IV antibiotics every 6–8 hours and checking her vitals every 4 hours. It was more precautionary than anything serious just to monitor her and keep the antibiotics on schedule.

Good news is she’s been cleared to go home. The discharge process is taking a while 4–5 hours due to workers’ comp paperwork and being understaffed but she will be home soon.

On my end, I was “working from home” today and managed to get everything sorted, packed back up and shipped.

There are some really great items in there, I’ll snap a pic of what I grabbed later tonight and share it.

FYI: While I can neither confirm nor deny the presence of any white washers, I can confidently assure everyone downstream that there are absolutely NO Avocado Green or Harvest Gold washers in there!

The dark brown version of those washing machines were better. Different transformer.

Great news on the healing front!
