So after tallying up my 2022’s spending on all things guitar related I told myself I would take a break from building and focus more on playing in 2023…..

Well, that lasted for about ten seconds. I have packages from PedalPBC, Smallbear, Sweetwater, and Tubesandmore arriving this weekend.

Aggghhh I love it and I hate it at the same time. Too much joy is created by making these magic boxes to turn my back……

Here's a hack: I got into eurorack last year, so I have almost no money left to build pedals!

A timely thread, with a new discount code up on the banner! I just have not added up what my building costs were last year. I mean, I pretty much know what an average pedal build costs me, but I just as soon not add it up. I did only buy one pedal last your, a PastFX Reticon Flanger, because… Reticon. I figured it was only going to go up in value, unless a huge new cache of them magically appears.

So, what boards is everyone ordering?

You do know that you need to put all the required parts (I've been told they can still be on tape, but haven't tried this myself yet) into a small box with them and let it sit until a new moon rises, then, after holding the box and rotating (counter-clockwise in the northern hemisphere, clockwise down south) 4 1/4 turns while humming the Ode to Joy, it will all be done. Sometimes I don't like the colors that the enclosures pick for themselves, but everything fires up fine, first try.

I remember when I was pumping out amps as fast as I could back around 2003-2007, I had an epiphany..... my desired to make music had turned into helping others to make music, and I was stagnating. Gaaa.

I play an hour at LEAST three times a week and at least four hours on Friday or Saturday night, sometimes both! I was in between programming gigs so I couldn't stop to smell the roses. So glad that's over and I'm retired, AHHHHHhhhhh

I have something coming from Sweetwater tomorrow, a new home for my '67 RIC 425. It's in fantastic shape for it's age, but the case isn't. I think the red of the guitar will complement the blue of the case in a psychedelic 60's way 8-)
