Hello, so I build the Cleaver booster kit.
And there is this weird thing that happens with it...
I run it at 18V and when I try to bias the transistors, the value goes from 10V to about 16V. So no setting it halfway.
I checked the resistors, 680R both, 1M too, 103 written on the trimmers. I just don't get it. Reflowed it all.
Setting the trimmers to left makes it louder, to right it cuts off in about 1/3.
But another thing is, the left transistors distorts by itself when it's ran louder, more than barely on.
The right one is okay.
So just gave up on finding the sweet spot by measuring, and I set it by ear...the left trimmer is so the transistor barely makes sound and the right one is on full to the left.
I am not quite keen on fixing it, since it sounds really good.
But I wonder what could be the cause, anyone has an idea?
(PS ignore the burnt trimmer
)
