This is unfortunate...

This is why I have pretty much stopped buying from the USA. I used to buy a lot of stuff from the US - clothes, guitars, effects, amp parts - even amps! And until fairly recently I was buying effects PCBs, parts, etc. But I recently ordered a single PCB from PPCB and Robert got it sent by airmail promptly as always. It left on the 11th of Feb and got here today, 3 of March. Before the orange man Airmail would often get here to Western Australia in a week. This time it was mistakenly sent to Osaka Japan instead of Australia. Fair enough I guess - we're in the same time zone. There's just the small matter of opposite hemispheres!

Obviously I don't blame Robert in the slightest - He did everything he could. The PCB is excellent and a very reasonable price, the shipping less so - again not Robert's fault. The cost of shipping has skyrocketed and the quality of the shipping has gone downhill rapidly. Is this how to bring manufacturing back to the US?

There must be thousands of small and medium sized businesses in the US who are suffering from this. Who can afford to buy stuff from the USA these days? I hope that there is enough business within the US for people like Robert to survive. I really like the knobs I got from Love My Switches but they are too expensive to ship here now. Tayda is so much cheaper and shipping to Australia from Thailand is peanuts. And if everything is in stock at Tayda it is here within the week.

I'm really sorry Robert!

Transportation and tariffs resp. local sales taxes are a big problem. Nevertheless i could have most of the (older) pcbs thru musikding in Germany. A half year ago i took the plunge and ordered for the first time directly from Robert on a special offer. I chose the cheapest transportation and it arrived not much later than the parts from musikding :ROFLMAO:
I can recommend ordering from Robert, if time is not a concern.

I once had a PPCB order rerouted from the Bahamas to South Africa, which was fairly bizarre in itself, but it’s normal to wait between four and six weeks for orders to clear customs. They arrive here quite promptly but the clearance delays add a lot of time to the process. Never mind, I still have a backlog of boards to clear…

There's been a steady stream of products coming from the US to NL, no issues here.
It's weird- Buying directly from the US has got to the point where it's not worth it anymore. And the price of American music gear in the shops here is way more competitive with importing it your self than it used to be. In fact it's probably cheaper to buy a Strat locally now - it never used to be like that. Custom shop stuff maybe not but everything else is probably cheaper locally now. So that's great for the big companies, not so good for small business.
